Former police officer, wife sentenced to jail time, probation for trashing, looting their foreclosed home in Murrieta

MURRIETA (Wire Service) - A former San Diego police Officer and his wife have been sentenced to 270 days in jail and five years' probation for trashing and looting their foreclosed home near Murrieta, it was reported today.

Robert Conrad Acosta, 40, and his wife, Monique Evette Acosta, 36, were convicted in May of one felony count each of stealing fixtures valued at more than $65,000 when they moved out of their foreclosed home in 2010, the Riverside Press-Enterprise reported.

Acosta was put on paid administrative leave by the San Diego Police Department, pending the resolution of the case. He...
