Man Shot by Deputy for Allegedly Holding Knife on Baby Jailed

RIVERSIDE - A Moreno Valley man shot by a Riverside County sheriff's deputy for allegedly holding a knife to a baby's throat during a domestic dispute was transferred today from a hospital to a jail cell.

Jose Soto Medina, 36, was shot during a confrontation with deputies on Saturday night at 22424 Ella St. in Moreno Valley. He was transferred to sheriff's custody and booked into the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside around 2:30 this morning.
