SAN JACINTO (Wire Service) - A Beaumont woman, who an off-duty police officer said tried to break into his car in San Jacinto, was arrested on suspicion of a string of vehicle burglaries, a sheriff's sergeant said today.
At about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, the officer said Katilynn Nicole Koumparis, 22, tried to break into his car in the area of Idyllwild Drive and Eagle Road, according to Sgt. Joey Nardone.
Koumparis drove away from the scene in her own vehicle, but deputies caught up with her at Seventh Street and Jordan Avenue and found property from other burglarized vehicles in her car, Nardone said.
Koumparis was arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and petty theft, the sergeant said.
She was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, where she was being held in lieu of $15,000 bail, jail records showed.
