RIVERSIDE - Riverside County will swelter in torrid heat for a third consecutive day today because of a heat wave expected to linger into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, it is hottest in the Coachella Valley, where an excessive heat warning remains in effect until 8 p.m. Friday. During the warning period, daytime highs will be 110 to 118 degrees and overnight lows will range between 85 and 95 degrees.
