Lift-A-Thon promotes Warriors' upcoming football season

Fallbrook High School’s football team holds its annual Lift-A-Thon on a Friday night to help produce the atmosphere of a Friday night high school football game. The Warriors, whose actual season opens Aug. 31 at home against Mount Miguel, held this year’s Lift-A-Thon on July 20.

“I think it was successful,” said Fallbrook head coach Joe Silvey.

Players solicit donations for the event which features their weightlifting activity. The team members compete against personal standards, so there is no individual winner. “It wasn’t really a competition,” Silvey said.
