TEMECULA - PRESS RELEASE - On Thursday, August 23, 2012, at about 1800 hours, officers from the Temecula Police Department investigated a report of a stolen vehicle at an address in the 3200 Block of Via Sabino in the city of Temecula. Their investigation revealed the following:
The vehicle originally thought to have been stolen was proven to not be stolen. However, a subject who was driving the vehicle was found to be in possession of counterfeit bills and counterfeit credit cards.
Officers conducted a probation search of the suspect's residence and located items related to the possession and manufacturing of counterfeit access cards, stolen mail, and stolen identification cards.
The suspect in this case, Jorge Soares Jr., 44, of Temecula, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Southwest Detention Center for possession of fictitious bills and possession of fictitious access cards. Further charges are anticipated after additional investigation is completed.
