FALLBROOK – Now beginning its fourth year, the Southern CA Damekor is currently recruiting additional singers for its 2012-2013 performance season. Damekor is a women’s vocal ensemble that sings mostly a capella music, some especially composed for the group by one of its members who is a gifted composer.
The group’s repertoire includes Scandinavian and American choral music in folk pop and classical styles. The ensemble has performed extensively in San Diego, Riverside and Orange counties. They will be appearing at the popular Viking Festival in Vista on Sept. 29 and 30.
Experienced choral singers and those who want to learn, teens and adults with Scandinavian heritage or just a love of choral music are invited to contact the director, Lynne Bradley, for more information or to schedule an audition.
Bradley, a former choral director at Fallbrook High School, has had extensive experience conducting choirs, including an award-winning women’s choir. Her choirs have sung at Orchestra Hall (Chicago), Carnegie Hall (New York City) and toured Europe.
Damekor is available for concerts, meetings, cultural events and Jul (holiday) programs. For more information about joining the Southern CA Damekor or to book a program, call (760) 505-8758, email [email protected] or visit http://www.socaldamekor.com.
