Fire near Sage and DePortola road controlled

SAGE - Firefighters Sunday expected to control a fire that broke out Saturday and blackened 50 acres, according to a Riverside County Fire Department news release.

The cause of the 4:56 p.m. blaze Saturday is under investigation, but Riverside County fire crews plan on fully controlling the blaze by 2 p.m. today, officials said.

Two fire crews and two water tenders responded to the fire near De Portola Road and Sage Avenue.
