Unemployed Vets to Receive Paid Training

RIVERSIDE - The Riverside County Board of Supervisors today authorized the allocation of $144,000 in federal grant funds to cover job training for eight unemployed veterans.

The county's Community Action Partnership is administering the ''Veterans Employment Training'' -- or VET -- program, which is geared to former service members who have recently left the military and are encountering difficulties establishing themselves in the labor market.
