Comma to the Top win in Pirate's Bounty gives Miller Del Mar trainer title

Comma to the Top, who won his first race when he was a two-year-old stabled at the San Luis Rey Downs Training Center, won his most recent race Sept. 5 at Del Mar.

The four-year-old gelding won the Pirate’s Bounty Stakes race on the Del Mar meet’s final day of the season. His victory gave Peter Miller the most trainer wins at Del Mar for 2012.

“It was really appropriate that he won the title for me,” Miller said. “It really brought me almost to tears.”

Comma to the Top also gave Miller his second Grade 1 stakes race win with the December 2010 Cash Call Futurity at Hollywood Park. (Set Play won...
