FBI Seeks Public's Help Identifying 'Desperate Bandit'

CORONA - A man dubbed the ''Desperate Bandit'' and suspected in seven bank hold-ups throughout Southern California -- including one in Corona -- remained at large today.

The FBI was hoping somebody might be able to identify the suspect, whose robbery spree began in early August.

In each case, the suspect has approached a teller and said he wanted to cash a company check, then made verbal and written demands for money, threatening the use of a gun, though one has not been shown, federal investigators said.
