Lewellen named Teacher of the Year finalist

On Oct. 6, Elizabeth Lewellen, a teacher with Fallbrook Union Elementary School District for 26 years, was named a San Diego County Teacher of the Year finalist.

Lewellen, who currently teaches seventh and eighth grades at Mary Fay Pendleton School on Camp Pendleton, wrote and received a grant last year from the Cox Kids foundation Innovation in Education program for her project Operation Global Citizen.
