Pala Fire Prevention Fair is on Oct. 20

PALA – The Pala Fire Department, along with the Pala Band of Mission Indians, will hold its seventh annual Fire Prevention Fair on Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pala Fire Station.

The public is invited to spend the day with the Pala Fire Department to learn more about the facility and fire safety. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the fire station and take photos on the fire engines. There will also be unique demonstrations: firefighters will extinguish a live fire and conduct a water drop from a helicopter.

The event will include information booths, children’s activities and a barbecue cooked by the firefighters.

“There will be something for everyone at this year’s Fire Prevention Fair,” said Robert Smith, chairman of the Pala Band of Mission Indians. “Between the helicopter demonstration, the tours of the state-of-the-art facility, and children’s activities, it will be a day of fun for the whole family. The facility is unlike any in the entire region, so we hope people will take advantage of the opportunity to meet the people and see the equipment up close that helps keep them safe.”
