Ramona CPG chair: emergency evacuation route a template

During the October 2007 fires, the towns of Fallbrook and Ramona were ordered evacuated. Residents of both communities experienced waits of hours due to heavy traffic on the only open road out of town.

On Oct. 9, 2012, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved an agreement which will provide for an alternative emergency evacuation route in Ramona. The agreement, which requires ratification by the Ramona Municipal Water District, is considered a major relief by Ramona residents.
