Also serving the communities of De Luz, Rainbow, Camp Pendleton, Pala and Pauma
The Fallbrook Healthcare District and Fallbrook Hospital have collaborated on a project to assist people in their decisions regarding their healthcare coverage.
A mailer was jointly developed then prepared and mailed to 8,000 residents of the community by a renowned PR company.
I received a call this morning from a woman who received the mailer at her home. It was addressed to her husband who had succumbed to cancer seven years ago. She was upset. I assured her that I would pass the information on to the PR company that prepared the mailing. They would, in turn, advise the company from which the labels were received. She indicated that through the years, too many times mail has come addressed to him and it is painful for her. We talked about her husband for a time and she calmed and shared her story. I assured her that no disregard or disrespect was intended. As she has received mail from others similarly addressed, I advised her that there are probably other databases where his name still appears. I suggested that until/unless they are all updated, she will continue to receive such mail. I too have received mail addressed to a loved one who has passed. When I do, I whisper to his spirit, “Ah, yes. I remember you.”
If you, too, received our mailer inappropriately addressed, our sincere apologies. To the charming woman with whom I spoke and shared, I extend a thank you for letting me know.
