Life-sized bronze statue stolen from mortuary; suspect caught on video

MURRIETA - On November 19, 2012, at 7 AM, staff members at the Miller Jones Mortuary, located at 26770 Murrieta Road in the city of Menifee, discovered a life-sized bronze statue had been stolen from the front of the building. Employees believe the theft occurred on Sunday evening November 18, 2012.

The statue is a life-sized depiction of a child climbing a tree to touch a bird. Additionally, a large bronze plaque was stolen from the location.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information regarding the theft is encouraged to call Investigator Guy Gilbert with the Riverside Sherif...
