Frederick “Larry” Glotfelty, 73, died on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012. Larry was born on Nov. 9, 1939 in the car on the way to Ottumwa Medical Center in Iowa, weighing in at 13 lbs. Larry served in the Marine Corps and while stationed in Hawaii earned an AA degree at the University of Hawaii.
Larry was a longtime member of the Bonsall Lions Club and served as Zone Chairman 1983-1984 and as Deputy District Governor 1984-1985.
Larry was a life member of VFW Post 7041 in Vista.
Larry was not sad about leaving this life. He loved life and lived it with enthusiasm and an incredible sense of humor. He had a quick wit and an infectious smile with a generous heart that was as big as the man himself. He loved to hate golf and to share stories with friends.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, Marie and Paul, and brothers Donald and Harold.
Larry is survived by his loving companion of 25 years, Marianne McKay; children Ty and his wife Kerri of Indio, and Brandi of Vista; grandchildren Tonyaa, Baylee and Jessyca of Indio and Alison Smith of Saint Louis; great-grandchild Moxynn of Indio; nephews Ed and wife Robin of Orange County, and Michael and wife Nicole of Ramona, and niece Debi Knudtson and son Cody of Vista and countless friends.

Services will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma, Calif. on Dec. 12 at 11 a.m.
