FALLBROOK – Tim Flannery, who perennially opens up the Fallbrook Music Concert season, is a finalist for Sports Illustrated Magazine’s “Sportsman of The Year,” according to booking director Dave Aranda-Richards.
“Tim’s recommendation in the magazine includes these statements: ‘What makes Tim our choice for Sportsman of the Year, goes deeper than helping the Giants to a second World Series Championship in three years. Last offseason, Flannery put on two benefit concerts for Bryan Stow, the Giants fan who spent months in a coma after he was attacked at Dodger Stadium in 2011. The concerts sold out before they were even promoted and he raised more than $60,000.’” Aranda-Richards said.
The article goes on to extol his baseball as well as his musical ability and friendly, positive outlook on life, which all comes alive on stage. With four straight sell-outs, Flannery draws from the entire county as well as from Riverside. The concert scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. will again feature all seats at $25.
The season’s second event is set for Valentine’s Day weekend and features the only group who has sold out faster than Flannery - Doyle Cole’s; The Four Tops, The Coasters, and The Drifters, Revue. That concert will be offered on Feb. 17 at a 2:30 matinee performance.
Tickets for both concerts are available at missiontheatre.com or by calling the theater at (760) 731-2278.
