Burnout Party benefits wounded warriors

FALLBROOK – On New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, Mike Hayden, president of the Shafters Car Club of California, hosted the organization’s Annual Burnout Party. Members of the car club came together and collected $2,000 at the event to distribute to wounded warriors and their families on Camp Pendleton. The amount raised this year was double last year’s total.

At the party, car club members lined up their classic automobiles for attendees to admire. On a concrete pad on Hayden’s property, the car enthusiasts were able to “smoke” their tires, which is a big hit at the event.
