Bar fight in Temecula leads to arrest

TEMECULA - A bar patron was slugged in the face with a beer stein during an unprovoked attack by a Temecula man who was later arrested, a sheriff's spokesman said today.

Sheriff's deputies went to Hard Hat's Sports Bar & Grill in the 27000 block of Jefferson Avenue in Temecula after receiving a 7:20 p.m. call Friday about an assault with a deadly weapon report, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Dean Spivacke said.

The patron -- identified as a 48-year-old Sun City resident -- suffered cuts and a broken nose. The patron wrote down the license plate number of the car his alleged attacker drove. A...
