SAN DIEGO - The median sales price of homes in San Diego County soared last month compared with February 2012, according to statistics obtained by City News Service today from the San Diego Association of Realtors.
The median price of a detached home last month was $410,000. One year earlier, it was $360,000, according to the SDAR data.
Also last month, 1,508 houses sold, compared witho 1,504 in the same month last year. The February 2013 total was about 50 sales below the mark of the previous month.
The SDAR said the median price of the 762 condominiums or townhomes that sold in February was $250,000. That compares with 749 sales of attached homes with a median price of $198,500 in the same period of 2012.
Listings also moved about three weeks faster than last year, with an average time on the market of 70 days for houses sold in February and 74 days for attached homes, according to the data.
The association plans to release its report and offer comments Friday.
