Probationer accused of assaulting a physically disabled woman charged today

MURRIETA - A probationer accused of assaulting a physically disabled family member in front of sheriff's deputies and briefly barricading himself inside the woman's San Jacinto home to avoid arrest was charged today with two counts of assault resulting in great bodily injury and other felonies.

Frank Leonard Campos, 52, was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly abusing the relative, whose identity was not released, at her home in the 900 block of Santa Fe Avenue.

Along with the assault counts, Campos is facing kidnapping and elder abuse charges, as well as sentence-enhancing allegations of inflicting injuries on a person over 70 years old and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
