STARS club soars at Frazier School

FALLBROOK – “I wanted to help students expand their minds, but I also wanted to expand my own understanding of the educational system in my local community,” said Mike Zimmerman, STARS coach and Fallbrook Union High School student.

Student Tutors Accelerating Reading Success, or STARS club, began in early February at William H. Frazier Elementary School. The club, aimed at closing the achievement gap for struggling first grade readers, partners 25 first grade students with fifth/sixth grade students at Frazier, and with ASB or AVID students from the high school.
