Open enrollment for independent study high school at Oasis

FALLBROOK – As the 20th anniversary of Oasis High School nears, administrators have announced open enrollment is in effect for the 2013-2014 school year which will begin Aug. 12 for the independent study program offered as an alternative by Fallbrook Union High School District.

Oasis High School currently has 112 students who have chosen one of its three options: traditional independent study; a blended option of traditional independent study with an online course; or all online courses.

Principal Melissa Marovich said Oasis is a successful program for students “willing to commit to accepting more responsibility for their education. All students are expected to follow a college preparatory track and those who are most successful demonstrate good time management, study, and organizational skills, as well as strong and involved parental support.”

Oasis students have the option of: participating in CIF athletics on Fallbrook High teams, attending a limited number of elective classes at Fallbrook High, and attending the annual Prom and Grad Night functions.
