FALLBROOK - On Sunday, May 19 at 3 p.m., the Fallbrook United Methodist Church will host a benefit concert for the Fallbrook Food Pantry. The Food Pantry has been a vital supporter of needy families in the greater Fallbrook area since 1991.
This exciting event will feature two musical groups. The ‘Through the Storm’ Chorus is comprised of about 22 North County singers bringing a wide range of experience and talent in gospel and spiritual singing. Kenneth Bell, the musical director has had the pleasure of working with the chorus since 2009. The group was formed in 2005 and has been motivated by social justice issues. The chorus’ efforts are voluntary, so all funds raised during their concerts are donated to designated, worthy causes.
Also in concert will be the Southland Wind Quintet. Including the instruments flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon, this combining of instruments created in Mozart’s time, performs a wide ranging repertoire from the baroque to contemporary, classical to jazz, and will accompany the chorus in selected pieces.
Residents are encouraged to attend this event for an afternoon of exceptional music with funds going towards a great cause.
Fallbrook United Methodist Church is located at 1844 Winterhaven Rd., Fallbrook.
