Arlyne Ingold

A great friend of Fallbrook, known far and wide for her generosity and philanthropic work, passed away on May 7, 2013 at the age of 95.

Arlyne Ingold was mother to Robert Jr., Richard, Renée and Randall; grandmother of Michelle Hobson and Melissa Vaicek, Keith Ingold and Amie Brunner, Karri Groggins, Christopher Benjamin and Ashley Ingold; and great-grandmother of eight precious great-grandchildren.

Her children were all beside her in her last days as was her trusted aide and friend, Carmen Ramirez. She died peacefully in her sleep.

Arlyne was one of 12 children born to Sebastian and Mary Ann Walz on Dec. 27, 1917 in Carroll, Iowa. Her family moved to Los Angeles when she was 3 years old. She was married to the late Robert Ingold. They moved to Bonsall in 1963 from Newport Beach, Calif.

Arlyne cared deeply about the welfare of children and felt very strongly about the value of education. She loved her strawberry and rose gardens. She was a founding member of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy, the Fallbrook Child Development Center, Bonsall Women’s Club, Angel Society, Ingold Field, Fallbrook Center of the Arts, Rally for Children, and Fallbrook’s Boys and Girls Club as well as a donor to countless other civic organizations including the new Fallbrook Library. She was a strong supporter of Palomar College and was granted an honorary degree.

Her generosity extended to the community of Fallbrook. Because of this she funded the Fallbrook Fourth of July fireworks celebrations.

She had a passion for the musical theater, traveling, shopping, visiting the casinos and cooking. She was an ace bridge player. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, the Fallbrook community and all who knew her.
