Jessie Mae Fahnestock passed away peacefully on May 13, 2013. Jessie was born in Oklahoma in 1919 but moved to Buckeye, Ariz. and then later to Los Angeles, where she met and married Fred Fahnestock in 1938.
Fred and Jessie had a long and adventurous life together starting with a motorcycle trip from L.A. to Chicago to show his mother his new bride and in later years traveling to Europe, Mexico and all over the United States. In 1940, they moved to South Gate, Calif. where they built their first home and had sons Fred Jr. and Jim.
When Jim and his wife Shirley moved to Fallbrook to open Jim’s Sign Shop in 1989, Fred and Jessie decided to move to Fallbrook as well and in 2001 bought the house right next door. It has been a great experience for both families. Jessie’s warm and loving heart will be sorely missed by her family and all who had the good fortune to know her.
She is survived by her husband; her two sons; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
