North County Fire works to quickly extinguish a brush fire that occurred alongside State Route 76 near Sage Road on Friday, August 2. Pala Fire Dept. assisted.
The California Highway Patrol was on scene at the brush fire on SR76 Friday, August 2, to monitor traffic. A segment of the roadway, from Sage Road to Interstate 15 was closed for about 45 minutes for firefighting efforts.
FALLBROOK – A brush fire started around 11:45 a.m. today (Friday, August 2) along State Route 76.
The blaze, very small in size, was located on the north side of the highway, slightly east of the junction of Sage Road (and Mike's Flowers).
"It was small and firefighters got it extinguished right away," said North County Fire public information officer John Buchanan.
To allow emergency responders adequate access, SR76 was closed to traffic between Interstate 15 and Sage Road for a little over 45 minutes.
Fire agencies responding to the blaze were North County Fire and Pala Fire Dept. The California Highway Patrol monitored traffic.
