The County of San Diego will soon eliminate plan check and building permit fees for disabled veterans who wish to modify their homes for accessibility purposes.
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 July 31 to approve the first reading and introduction of the ordinance to eliminate the fees for such accessibility upgrades. The second reading and adoption is scheduled for Sept. 11, in which case the ordinance change would take effect Oct. 11.
