FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce has announced that its annual Honorary Mayor race is “revving up” and candidates are beginning to enter the competition and plan fundraisers.
The first two candidates to register are Brian Deming with the Masonic Cemetery Association of Fallbrook and Lila MacDonald with the Fallbrook Food Pantry.
Chamber representatives said there is plenty of time for other organizations to select a candidate and participate in the “race.”
This year, each supporting organization will receive back 20 percent of what their candidate raises. A percentage of the funds also go to the “Flags Over Fallbrook” program, helping to keep American flags posted on flagpoles and downtown streets in good repair.
Candidates can contact the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce for more information or visit the office at 111 S. Main Ave.
Deadline for candidates to join the race is Thurs., Sept. 26.
