Fallbrook High library offers opportunities for students

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Union High School library has announced upcoming opportunities for students. Library technician Judy Egan has posted them as follows:

On Thursday, Sept. 26, “Karaoke in the Library” will be featured. During lunch time, students and staff are invited to show off their singing skills. Lyrics will be displayed on a large screen and members of the Associated Student Body (ASB) will emcee the fun.

“Open Mic in the Library” will take place on Thursday, Oct. 10. During lunch, students and staff can perform music acoustically, read original poetry, short stories, act out a short scene, etc. The ASB will also emcee this event. All acts must audition for ASB beforehand.

From Oct. 22 through 25, a BookSwap will take place in the library. Students and staff can stop by the library throughout the days and browse through gently-used books, magazines, puzzles and games. Students can swap their own books for ones available in the special area (not library books). The used items can also be purchased if one doesn’t wish to swap something. Donations welcome!

On Thursday, Jan. 23, “Lunch with an Author” will feature special guest Laura McNeal, author of Dark Water (a fictional story about the fires/evacuation in Fallbrook in 2007). This author has also written several other titles with her husband, author Tom McNeal. Space is limited, so students should sign up to attend this event; it will be okay to eat lunch there.

Questions can be directed to Judy Egan at (760) 723-6300, Ext. 2229.
