Suicidal Man Fatally Shot by Deputies

MENIFEE - A Menifee man threatening suicide was fatally shot today by deputies when he allegedly confronted them with a weapon.

The deputy-involved-shooting occurred around 5:15 p.m. outside a house fronting the Cherry Hills Golf Course in the 27000 block of Medford Way, near Sandtrap Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies were called to the location at 4:50 p.m. after a resident telephoned a 911 dispatcher, saying that he wanted to kill himself, sheriff's spokesman Deputy Julio Oscguira told City News Service.
