69-year-old Anza woman who died in head-on collision identified

AGUANGA - A 69-year-old Anza woman who died from injuries sustained in a head-on collision in Aguanga was identified today.

Sandra Dunham died at 2:56 p.m. Wednesday at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, about 90 minutes after the crash was reported on Highway 371, a few miles west of Tribal Road, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, Dunham was driving an SUV west on 371 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered into the eastbound lane and into the path of a pickup truck driven by a 40-year-old Anza woman.
