Sumpter, Delcoure make San Diego college football debut

Juwan Sumpter and Johnny Delcoure returned to San Diego County for the Sept. 7 football matchup between Western New Mexico University and the University of San Diego, and both played their first San Diego college football game.

Sumpter appeared in four games for WNMU last year but did not play in the Mustangs’ game at USD. Delcoure had not played a college football game prior to the Sept. 7 contest. Both graduated from Fallbrook High School in 2011 and are classified as sophomores at WNMU.

“It really felt good,” Delcoure said.
