Warriors 3-2 in Poway Invitational water polo tournament

Fallbrook High School’s boys water polo team began its 2013 season with the Sept. 5-7 Poway Invitational tournament.

Fallbrook won three games and lost two. Because a first-round loss in the Poway Tournament places a team in the bottom bracket, the Warriors’ opening loss Sept. 5 to Valley Center eliminated Fallbrook from a top-16 finish, but the Warriors won three of their final four contests.

“We played fairly well,” said Fallbrook coach Bill Richardson.
