Scarecrows are coming! October in Fallbrook to feature variety of scarecrows throughout community

For the second year in a row, a crop of scarecrows is popping up in Fallbrook for the month of October, springing from the imaginations of local residents. Made of paper mache, wire, plastic, newspaper and wood, they will soon appear in front of schools, homes, shops, and other businesses for the now annual Scarecrow Days promotion.

The scarecrows’ mission is to bring tourists to town, not only to learn about Fallbrook but “to shop Fallbrook, eat in our restaurants, look in our stores…,” said Jan Scott, one of the organizers. Locals, as well as out of town visitors, will see different sections...
