Wine and jazz festival outstanding

A person would be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful venue than the Grand Tradition Estate & Gardens for its inaugural “Jazz & Wine in the Gardens.”

The music was outstanding, the treats at the food stations were first rate, and most of the wines I tasted were commendable. The food tastings were sprinkled throughout the garden paths which lent itself to the feel of a scavenger-hunt.

The first class host, Michael Paulo, of the jazz performances was delightful and an excellent sax player. Paulo began his musical portion of the show playing from the rooftop of the Grand Tradition veranda adding an unexpected, exciting dimension to the show. All of the musical artists were noteworthy.

People-watching was at its best with folks sauntering through the gardens or around the lake, and moving to and fro for food and wine. Don McDougal welcomed his guests and introduced his parents who opened the venue over 25 years ago. Our accolades go to Mark McDougal with the vision to make it happen.

There were plenty of helpful staff and friendly security. Once again, Fallbrook triumphs with its community jewels, the Grand Tradition, the “Galaxy of Glass” at the Art Center, and array of classes at the School of the Arts.

If you missed this outstanding Fallbrook event, shame on you, but you can make it up next year and bring friends.
