MENIFEE - Sheriff's investigators arrested a man in Menifee for his alleged connection with a shooting last month, a sergeant said today.
Detectives identified Deric Torrez Martinez, 31, of Riverside, as a suspect in the Sept. 14 shooting in Temecula that left a man with a gunshot wound. The victim has since recovered, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Kevin McDonald said.
An arrest warrant was issued for Torrez and he was found at an undisclosed location in Menifee. He was later arrested Friday for suspicion of attempted murder, McDonald said.
Sheriff's investigators expect to recommend the filing of more charges against Torrez since he had narcotics on him during his arrest, McDonald said.
