Sheriff's Dept. shares Halloween safety reminders

FALLBROOK - Halloween is just around the corner and now is the time to start thinking about being safe that night when the ghouls, goblins, and creepy critters are everywhere. Being safe in your neighborhood involves several levels: a safe costume, safe trick or treating practices, and safe celebrating afterwards, and it involves everyone in order for it to be a success. Here are some things to keep in mind:

• Costumes should be easy to see from a distance. Use light colors and/or reflective tape.

• Make sure that the costume is the proper length in order to avoid tripping.
