FALLBROOK – Save Our Forest, a branch of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy, will host an environmental educational seminar made possible by grant funds from California ReLeaf on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Palomares House, 2815 S. Stagecoach Lane starting at 9 a.m.
“We will be working with standards of the Environmental Protection Agency on special educational methods for residents to understand and practice environmental stewardship. How the decisions and actions of an individual can make a lasting impact on the health and quality of a community and the environment will be discussed.
Robin Rivet, ISA certified arborist from the California Center for Sustainable Energy will speak on methods to make trees work for property owners by saving energy, providing wind protection, preventing erosion, and the other benefits.
Attendees will learn new information relating to the latest research surrounding the complex biology of trees. This presentation will provide up-to-date advice for improving tree vigor, understanding cultivars, rootstocks, and modern arboricultural practices to endure longer-lived healthier tree of all kinds.
Brian Bishop, local ISA certified arborist will share how to prune young shade trees to maximize their capabilities and benefits at maturity. Participants will learn how to start a tree on the right path.
Hear how to evaluate existing trees as to location, height, type, and whether it is doing the job for the resident and its home.
Each participant will receive a packet of nine vital tree bulletins by the National Arbor Day Foundation for home reference.
