Warrior sticksters shut out Mustangs for first league win

Fallbrook High School’s field hockey team opened Avocado League play October 11 with a loss to Vista after a penalty stroke shootout, but the Warriors obtained their first league victory October 16 with a 3-0 home win over San Dieguito Academy.

“Really nice scoring,” said Fallbrook coach Kathy Waite.

Maddie Ashbrook began the scoring with an unassisted goal. The two other goals, one in the first half and one in the second half, were both on tip-in plays from Ashbrook to Heather Snider.

“We scored twice on tipping,” Waite said. “That was exciting.”
