The 238th Marine Corps birthday was celebrated at Fallbrook Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 1924 with a traditional cake-cutting ceremony on Nov. 10.
At the well-attended event, USMC Lt. Col. Bruce Harjung (Ret.) serving as master of ceremonies, said, “We Marines know what and who we are, however, when a senior member of another service talks about us, it drives home who we really are and what others think of us.”
Harjung then read some excerpts from a speech given by Rear Admiral Stark, U.S. Navy that included these quotes and more.
