Bjorn "Chris" Christensen

Bjorn “Chris” Christensen, a loving husband, dad, Morfar, and hero died at the age of 94 on November 16, 2013. He was born August 30, 1919 in Naestved, Denmark to Aage and Anna Christensen. He immigrated to the U.S. with his family when he was 7 years old.

Bjorn enlisted in the Navy in 1939. He served in the Navy all over the world for 22 years until he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. Bjorn was aboard the USS Argonne at the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii during WWII. He heroically saved other sailors from the burning water and torpedoed ships with a team of sacrificing shipmates.
