Eight cars involved in chain reaction collision on Interstate 15 near Border Patrol checkpoint in Temecula

TEMECULA - Eight vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction collision on southbound Interstate 15 near the Border Patrol checkpoint in Temecula this morning, Wed., Dec. 18.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m.

Timothy McKay, 45, of Temecula was driving a 2014 Ford when he began to slow down due to a collision that occurred ahead of him. The driver behind him, Dusty Edwards, 39, of Temecula, applied his brakes but could not stop his 2008 Toyota in time, striking the Ford.
