Child Summons Help for Grandmother During Emergency

MURRIETA - A 5-year-old girl's quick action helped save her grandmother's life, a Murrieta Fire Department official said today.

Paramedics were called to the 40200 block of Via Acuna around 11 p.m. Monday to provide medical aid to a woman who had collapsed and fallen unconscious in her home, according to fire department spokesman Matt Corelli.

He said personnel arrived within five minutes and treated the elderly victim, whose identity was not released, for a life-threatening condition, then rushed her to a hospital, where she was stabilized.
