Fahnestock turns 100 years old

FALLBROOK – Fred H. Fahnestock of Fallbrook celebrated his 100th birthday on January 9. He is a veteran of WWII and flew 31 missions as the tail gunner on a B-24 (“Stardust”) in the 8th Air force over Europe.

He married the love of his life, Jessie Mae Brooks, in 1938 and enjoyed their 75th anniversary last March. Jessie passed away in May. Fred enjoys watching old westerns on TV and the “cocktail hour” with his family before dinner.
