Tres Corona Mas involved in Southern California Derby dead heat

As a Grade 1 stakes race, the Southern California Derby run Dec. 22 at Los Alamitos would have been exciting enough. It became even more exciting when the track stewards declared a dead heat for first place between Nellie Delaney and Jabuti Eagle Sa. There was also a dead heat for third between Scoop of Sunshine and the Vessels Stallion Farm gelding Tres Coronas Mas.

“It was kind of an interesting thing. I’ve never seen it happen before,” said Vessels Stallion Farm general manager Cash Vessels.
