Devin Robert Bell passed away of natural causes in his sleep at his Alturas, Calif. home on November 22, 2013. He was 53.
Devin was born in Fallbrook, Calif. on March 24, 1960 to Bonnie and Chuck Bell. He was a twin and one of four children.
He loved to play sports. At Fallbrook High School, he played football and baseball, graduating in 1978. He operated his own business, Bell Drilling, a perk testing business in Southern California until relocating to Modoc County.
Devin was the loving father of one daughter, Desiree Bell, whom he raised as a single dad. He loved his family and his young grandson, Damian Bell.
His passion in life was fishing - spending many hours ocean fishing in Southern California and, after moving to Modoc, in lakes reservoirs and streams.
After Devin’s twin brother Darrin passed away, a close friend from high school encouraged Devin to relocate with Desiree to Alturas where Devin became a transporter for Modoc County Health Services. He loved his job and made Alturas his home for almost 10 years.
His mother, Bonnie Bell, resides in Fallbrook; his older siblings, Doug Bell and sister Tracy Bell, live in Southern California. Devin’s daughter Desiree and her son Damian live in Alturas.
Devin’s father preceded him in death.
