Free defensible space clearing and chipping for San Diego low income seniors and disabled residents

SAN DIEGO - The FireSafe Council of San Diego County, in partnership with the Resource Conservation District of San Diego County, announced Jan. 15 it is offering a free Defensible Space Assistance Program (DSAP) for low income seniors or disabled residents.

Maintaining 100-feet of defensible space around homes is required by law. It also helps to protect a home from fire danger and provides fire fighters a safe area when defending homes from wildfires.
