Bernita Jean Fenn went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2014. At the age of 81, she passed peacefully with family members at her side ending the health challenges she experienced for the past five years.
Bernita was born in Santa Ana, Calif. on January 12, 1933. She is survived by her two children, David Fenn and Elizabeth Arkin, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She traveled the country with her husband who served in the Marine Corp for 23 years, retiring in Joshua Tree at the age of 54. Bernita worked as a secretary, an administrative assistant to the Newport Beach district attorney and as a sales clerk at Chattels in Fallbrook where she lived from 2002 to 2012. She also volunteered as a docent at Live Oak Park.
Bernita was an avid hobbyist, coin collector, cake decorator, stain glass artist, bird watcher and dog lover.
In memory of her, please join us on Sunday, February 9 in celebrating her life from 2 to 6 p.m. at The Arkin Home, 18 Via Perico, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
